Miss Hannah- Gym Director and AAU Team Coach
Hannah was CORE's first employee in August, 2018, and helped us open our doors! She was a gymnast as a child, then used her friendly smile and positive attitude to work in the service industry for a few years before finding her home here at CORE. Hannah started as a part-time gymnastics instructor and quickly grew into a leadership role, both in teaching classes and tackling the administrative side of the gym, and is now CORE's Gym Director. She is also the co-founder of our fantastic AAU team, which she and Taylor started in 2021, and has been an integral part of every one of CORE’s “firsts.” Hannah has helped the owner create CORE’s vision, CORE’s curriculum and CORE’s positive environment, and is at the center of our rapid and continued growth.
Miss Taylor, "TWT"- Community Outreach Director and AAU Team Coach
Taylor joined the CORE family in January, 2020, with a background in gymnastics both as a former gymnast from Lee County Gymnastics in Sanford, NC and as a gymnastics instructor. She graduated from Guilford College in May, 2021 with a degree in Health Science. Taylor has helped CORE grow over the years, teaching recreational and tumbling classes, and she is the co-founder of CORE’s amazing AAU competitive team. She works full-time with Fidelity, but continues to work with CORE because she loves having gymnastics as part of her everyday life, and finds fulfillment in contributing to the lives of other people.
Miss Eleanor- Tumbling and AAU Team Coordinator,
A North Carolina native- Eleanor did gymnastics for 15 years- starting with Artistic gymnastics before switching to Trampoline and Tumbling and competing through level 10. She has been coaching gymnastics since she was 16 and loves working with kids of all ages. Eleanor graduated from UNCG in May, 2023 with a degree in Women and Gender Studies and a minor in History. She works with CORE full-time leading and helping us grow our AAU team and Tumbling Plus classes. She has 4 cats and loves to read and explore outside in her free time.

Miss Heather- Program Director and USAG Compulsory Team Coach
Originally from Eugene, OR, Heather began gymnastics at the age of 3 and competed for the United States Gymnastics Academy from ages 7 to 18. She started coaching at USGA when she was 14, and then worked at Gymnastics Northwest during college, initially starting as a recreational coach, but later becoming the Head of Preschool Gymnastics and working with a wide range of skill levels, including team. Heather graduated from the University of Oregon with a Psychology degree before moving to Greensboro. She works with us full-time leading our preteam and lower compulsory levels and helping us grow our future USAG competitive program. She also helps guide our new hires as they earn their requirements to become a lead instrucror. Her favorite part of being a coach is watching kids gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. In her spare time, she likes to read and spend time with her cats, Cersei and Karma.

Miss Violet- Preschool and Recreational Gymnastics Instructor
Violet is a recent UNCG graduate with a concentration in Music Education. She works as an elementary music teacher. Violet has a background in coaching recreational gymnastics as well as competitive gymnastics and all-star cheerleading and has even competed in all-star cheerleading for 7 years. Outside of teaching gymnastics, Violet serves as a current private music teacher and her other hobbies consist of reading, hiking, crocheting, and being an avid coffee enjoyer. Violet is incredibly passionate about coaching/teaching and one of her favorite things about being a coach is seeing the progress and growth from all of her students and getting to share the thing that she loves the most with others.

Miss Lindsey- Preschool, Recreational Gymnastics and AAU assistant coach
Lindsey was born and raised in Florida, and graduated from the University of South Florida with degree in Behavioral Healthcare with a concentration in Children's Mental Health. She moved to NC in 2023 and is happy to have Greensboro be her new home. Growing up, Lindsey participated in AAU Gymnastics for a few years before transitioning to competitive cheer. She competed in both in high school and all-star cheer for about 6 years, at both the state and national level. Outside of the gym, she enjoys painting, hiking and kayaking.
Lindsey loves gymnastics and cheerleading and enjoys sharing that passion with the students and other coaches at CORE. She says the best part about coaching is being able to help students achieve their gymnastics goals and cheering them on when they learn a new skill!

Mr Cody- Preschool, Recreational Gymnastics and Boys Coach
Born and raised in Whispering Pines, NC, Cody was always an athletic kid. He played soccer, track and gymnastics. His gymnastics journey started when he was 5, and it only took a little over a year for him to geton the competitive team. He competed in artistic men’s gymnastics for about 7 years. Ultimately, his gymnastics career ended so he could be more involved in music and his studies. Marching band and wind ensemble became a huge part of his life until college. Cody is currently studying Religious Studies and Philosophy at UNCG. He is a member of a fraternity, and is a proud member of the CORE family.
In his free time, Cody loves hiking, going on road trips, learning languages, playing and making music, thrifting and, of course, flipping around. His favorite part about working at CORE is seeing the kids light up with energy and excitement when they enter the gym, as well as the support he receives from parents and staff. It’s something he's very grateful for and it motivates him everyday day.

Mr Haywood- Recreational Gymnastics and Tumbling Plus Instructor
Haywood is from Hallsboro, NC. He attended ECU in Greenville NC (Go Pirates). His humble beginnings in tumbling started in middle school where he discovered an interest in parkour. This led to his decision to cheer his last 3 years in high school and later the entirety of his stay at ECU. There Haywood was blessed win a National Championship with his teammates in 2021. During his college career, he began coaching tumbling for FAME Allstars Greenville, and became an instructor for UCA, where his appreciation for coaching cheer and tumbling flourished.
Haywood is currently working towards completing his BA in Psychology and pursuing a profession in Psychiatry, a decision he believes will allow him to help those in his community.
On his free time, Haywood enjoys stunting and watching movies... and getting a little extra sleep when he can. Haywood is happy to be back in a gym atmosphere because he truly loves connecting with athletes from all backgrounds by helping them understand their capabilities and reaching their goals.

Mr Schuyler- Director of Operations and USAG Co-Head Coach
A North Carolina native, Schuyler is returning to Greensboro in July after living in northern Virginia for seven years. He will be joining CORE full-time as our Director of Operations. He graduated from UNCG with a Bachelors in English and earned his Masters of Education in Secondary English from George Washington University. For the past four years, he’s taught high school English in Washington, DC. Before teaching in a classroom, Schuyler coached gymnastics in NC and VA for eight years. He taught everything from preschool and recreational classes through elite-track athletes in the TOPS and HOPES programs. His favorite event to coach is bars. In addition to coaching, he has been gymnastics judge for the last 10 years, judging competitions of all levels, including NCAA. He also served on the executive board of the National Association for Women’s Gymnastics Judges in VA as the New Judges Coordinator.
When not teaching in a gym or a classroom, Schuyler enjoys reading, running, and baking. He is looking forward to getting back in the gym again because, as a former competitive gymnast himself, his favorite thing about coaching is helping young athletes set and reach their goals. We can’t wait to welcome him home!

Mrs Arien- USAG Team Coordinator
Arien is originally from Beaufort, N.C. and has spent most of her life dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. She competed through USAG Level 10 and was a member of the 2002 Region 8 JO National Team. Arien continued her gymnastics career at North Carolina State University where she specialized on the balance beam. In her sophomore year, she suffered an ankle injury that prevented her from competing for two seasons. It was during this time that she fell more in love with coaching and motivating her teammates. This time helped shape her into the coach she is today. Upon graduating from N.C. State with an Undergrad in Sports Management, she decided to move to the Winston-Salem area where she worked with and learned from her gymnastics mentors. Arien has been a major part of two predominant programs over the last 16 years. She has had coaching success at the State, Regional, and National level and is eager and excited to create young and well-balanced gymnasts. Arien and her husband, Chris, were married in June of 2013 and have two young boys, Skylar (10) and Layton (8). Arien hopes to continue to spread the joys of gymnastics and encourage the youth in our community!

Miss Echo- Preschool and Recreational Instructor
Echo is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a former AAU gymnast who joined the CORE team in 2024. She is currently a senior at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. She plans to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant, specializing in Sports Medicine in the future.
With a strong passion for helping others through sports and movement, Echo loves creating a positive, encouraging environment where children can stay active and build confidence by reaching their goals in gymnastics.

Miss Marlena- Preschool and Recreational Instructor
Marlena recently graduated from Ithaca College, where she competed DIII gymnastics for all four years as a bars specialist. Marlena loves the sense of accomplishment she feels when competing a skill and the relationships she has formed through the sport. Currently, Marlena is in a kinesiology master’s program with a concentration in applied sport psychology at UNCG. Her ultimate goal is to work as a mental performance consultant for a professional or collegiate sports team.
Gymnastics has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember, and now that she is done competing herself, she is excited to pass on her knowledge and joy for the sport to the next generation of athletes!
